Airport Taxi · Private transfer to Galicia & the Camino
We connect 7 airports with Sarria, Palas de Rei, Lugo, Santiago and any point on the Camino de Santiago. Fixed price, terminal pickup, luggage included, licensed vehicle with blue plates.
How to choose your airport for the Camino
The cheapest airport isn't always the best deal. Useful rule: flight + transfer = total cost. A flight that's €60 cheaper to Porto stops making sense if the transfer costs €250 more than flying into Santiago. These are the four factors that matter:
Total budget
Always add flight + transfer + possible extra night. Flying SCQ at €180 with €79 transfer to Palas (€259) usually beats OPO at €60 with €333 transfer (€393).
Camino starting point
Sarria (Francés 100 km) → SCQ or LCG. Tui (Portugués) → VGO or OPO. Oviedo (Primitivo/Norte) → OVD. León (extra stages) → LEN. Madrid only if you're flying intercontinental.
Passengers
For 3-4 people the fixed-price transfer almost matches the bus per-passenger price, with no waits or transfers. For 5+, we coordinate a second car at the same total price/car.
Time and season
Late-night or Sunday evening flights leave fewer bus/train options. A private transfer avoids waiting 4 h for the first service. In high season (June-September) book 1-2 weeks in advance.
Quick rule: if you're heading to Sarria/Palas/Lugo and not flying intercontinental, prioritise SCQ. If LCG or OPO is clearly cheaper, check the saving beats the extra transfer cost in the table below.
Choose your airport
Coverage from 7 airports. We calculate fixed prices instantly. Indicative distances to the two most common Camino bases: Sarria (start) and Palas de Rei.
Santiago de Compostela
Galicia · Lavacolla
Galicia's main airport. Domestic and international flights. Close to the end of the Camino.
When to choose it: The default choice. If you find a reasonably-priced SCQ flight, take it: it minimises the transfer and gets you on the Camino fastest.
A Coruña – Alvedro
Galicia · Culleredo
Galicia's second airport. Direct flights to Madrid, Barcelona and London.
When to choose it: Good if you're coming from Madrid or the UK and SCQ is expensive. If your final destination is Lugo or A Mariña lucense, A Coruña is convenient.
Vigo – Peinador
Galicia · Pontevedra
Southern Galicia. Good if you're doing the Portuguese Camino or flying via Madrid.
When to choose it: Most efficient if you'll do the Camino Portugués or Camino de la Costa from the south. For the Francés at 100 km, it's the longest of the Galician options.
Porto – Sá Carneiro
Portugal
European low-cost flights. Natural entry point for the Portuguese Camino.
When to choose it: If your priority is a cheap flight (Ryanair, EasyJet, TAP) coming from the rest of Europe. Also if you want to combine with a couple of nights in Porto before the Camino.
León – La Virgen del Camino
Castilla y León
Mid-point of the Camino Francés. Ideal if you want to walk more stages.
When to choose it: If you want to walk more than 100 km — the classic route from León is ~310 km to Santiago. For the standard 100 km, choose another airport.
Asturias – Ranón
Asturias
Gateway to the Camino del Norte and Camino Primitivo.
When to choose it: The best option if your plan is Camino del Norte or Primitivo (which starts in Oviedo). Far from Sarria for the Camino Francés.
Madrid Barajas
Madrid
International hub. For cheap flights from the Americas/Asia. Long distance with stops.
When to choose it: If you're coming from outside Europe (intercontinental flight). For large groups, flying to MAD is sometimes cheaper than SCQ. Can be combined with AVE.
Indicative prices per airport
Fixed total price per vehicle (1-4 passengers, luggage included). Standard weekday rate, 2026.
Indicative. The final price is confirmed at booking based on exact pickup point, time and options (child seat, pet, etc.).

| OPOPorto | from 345€ |

How it's calculated: tiered per-km rate (€1.30/km short, €1.15/km long-distance) over the most efficient route. Fixed price means it doesn't change with traffic, tolls or small destination tweaks. Possible surcharges: night service (00:00–06:00), holidays, pet (+€5), bike (+€10).

Licensed vehicle: blue plates and passenger insurance
In Spain, only vehicles with blue plates (taxi and licensed VTC) can charge for transporting you. It's the visible mark that the vehicle has public passenger transport authorisation, mandatory passenger insurance and a professional driver with the BTP licence. A paid transfer in a private car is not covered in case of an accident — the driver's insurance only covers private use and would reject the claim.
All our airport transfers use vehicles with blue plates, current authorisation and up-to-date insurance. If any "service" offers a transfer in a car with white plates, it's illegal and you're not protected.
Frequently asked questions · Airports
Which airport should I fly into for the Camino from Sarria?
The most convenient is Santiago (SCQ) — only 110 km, ~75 min. If you find cheaper flights, A Coruña (LCG) and Porto (OPO) are good alternatives. For long international flights Madrid (MAD) or Porto (OPO) are usually more efficient.
Do you cover all 7 airports with the same service?
Yes. We cover Santiago, A Coruña, Vigo, Porto, León, Asturias and Madrid with the same service: fixed price, terminal pickup with name sign, luggage included, flight tracking and door-to-door service to your final destination in Galicia.
Which is the cheapest airport to fly to for the Camino?
Varies by season. Porto (OPO) and Madrid (MAD) usually offer low-cost flights. Santiago (SCQ) is more expensive but you save time and transfer cost. Always compare flight + transfer = total cost.
Do you do night-time or early-morning pickups?
Yes. We work 24/7 with prior booking. If your flight arrives at night, we coordinate it in advance. No surprise surcharges, everything closed at booking.
How will I find you at the airport?
We wait at the arrivals zone with a name sign. We track your flight in real time. If there's a delay, we adjust automatically at no extra cost.
What if I fly to Madrid and connect via AVE?
If your plan is AVE Madrid-Santiago + taxi to the final destination, we can handle just the last leg (Santiago → Sarria/Palas/Lugo). If you prefer a single door-to-door trip with no transfers, we also cover the full Madrid-Galicia route — often more comfortable for groups.
Is your service legal? What guarantees do I have?
Yes. We operate with blue-plate vehicles (licensed taxi/VTC), mandatory passenger insurance and authorisation for public passenger transport. Only blue-plate vehicles can legally charge for transporting you in Spain; in case of an accident, any transfer in a private vehicle would not be covered. More details in our article on blue plates.
How many bags and passengers fit?
Up to 4 passengers with one large suitcase + carry-on per person. For 5-7, we coordinate a second vehicle at the same total fixed price. For larger groups we have minibus service on demand.
Do you accept card payment? Pay in advance?
We accept cash, bank transfer and Bizum. No upfront payment required: pay at the end of the trip. If you need a business invoice, we issue it on the spot.
Are weekday and weekend prices different?
Published rates are indicative for weekdays in standard hours. Holidays, night service (00:00–06:00) or peak season (Easter, August) may carry a small surcharge. Always communicated at booking confirmation — no later surprises.
What if my flight is delayed or cancelled?
We track the flight. If delayed, we adjust at no cost. If cancelled and you must reschedule, move the booking with us at no penalty (at least 12 h notice). For last-minute cancellations, we charge only the displacement if the driver was already en route.
